| PAYT Meeting Minutes for September
25, 2002
Present: Terry Miller, George Russell, Jay Ball, Don Friswell, Carol Gloff, Peter Slamin, Nancy Higgins, Pat Severance Recycling Panel Discussion: Excellent panel with kudos to Brinley . Very professional, informative panel members. Unfortunately the audience was sparse. It will be on cable and we should try to get a copy. Natick Days on Sept. 14: Very positive feedback throughout the day. The most common question related to #3 - #7 plastics. This is a real need. Special thanks to all who helped out and especially George, Terry and Deb Hellmold who were there all day. DEP Grant Money: The municipal grants have been drastically cut and the town administrator has received a notice that we will be fortunate to see a portion of what we requested. Right now we are quite sure of getting one brochure printing and possible$4,000 - $5,000. The DEP is trying for a supplemental budget and letters are being written. What will lack of grant funds mean to Natick? We would not have money for the following:
The bags need to be ordered in February or March to allow printing time. Brochure: Jay will send a copy to Carol and we’ll try to get it edited soon. Bags: The committee accepted a motion to offer 2 size bags: 30 gallon and 15 gallon. It was a unanimous vote in favor of the motion. Price is yet to be determined. October 7 Selectmen’s Meeting: discussed points to make. Town Meeting: We will offer a non-binding resolution asking for a vote of support PO& E sub-committee: Needs to come up with a slogan. Meeting adjourned at 8:30 pm. Next meeting date: Wednesday, October 23, 2002
