PAYT Meeting Minutes for July 1, 2002 [not official, subject to ammendment and approval]
Present:  Terry Miller, George Russell, Don Friswell, Carol Gloff, Chip Laffey, Denise Nelken,  Melanie Phillips, Peter Slamin,  Brinley Vickers

Elderly exemptions: 
The topic was discussed.  Most towns do not have a special exemption.  Since Natick already has several programs in place, this would probably fall under existing guidelines.

Upcoming Selectmen’s Meeting:
George will do an intro and have a short presentation from each sub-committee.  The grant will be discussed with emphasis on the importance of approval by the Selectmen.

One page handout for the press and public will have a financial statement and brief summary of other initiatives.

Packet for Selectmen: Above-mentioned handout, timeline, financial statement, DEP grant information and copy of the letter we need signed for the grant.

Next steps:

  • Natick Days on September 14.  Recycling comm. and PAYT will have tables.
  • George will be talking to BFI in July
  • Presentation to Town Meeting?  Need to look further into this
