PAYT Meeting Minutes for February 12, 2003 [subject to approval]

Present:  Terry Miller, George Russell, Jay Ball,  Don Friswell, Carol Gloff, Chip Laffey, Kathy Rehl, Peter Slamin, Brinley Vickers,  Deb Hellmold

Pancake Breakfast at Community Farm: On March 1, 2003, from 8 – 11, we will have a table at the Community Farm breakfast held at Memorial School.  We will distribute the brochure and have sample bags and answer questions.  Brinley will work with Jay to finalize the brochure.  Jay will have it printed (200 copies) at the copy center.    We’ll also have a flyer and display.

Bags: George and Chip met with the bag company from S. Carolina and were very pleased.  This company is now on the state bid so that will facilitate our ordering. George and Brinley will finalize the printing and send it to the company.  We’ll probably order 150,000 large and 75,000 small bags initially.

Board of Selectmen:  It was brought to our attention that the BOS has not formerly voted the cost of the bags, the color and the two sizes.  Terry will call to get on the next possible agenda to have this finalized.

Brochure enclosure in water bills: We would like to get the brochure enclosed in the bills for  the March, April and May mailings.

Sign on the Common: We can have the space for the week of June 22, 2003.  We need to purchase the sign material from the Recreation Dept.

Upcoming events for visibility:  March 1, 2003, 8-11, Community Farm Pancake Breakfast;
May Day Celebration on the common; Spring Fest at the farm;  4th of July parade
